To clarify things, I am a Disney fan. I like Disney, always did. But something always bugged, even when I was a kid.
Look at Goofy.
He wears clothes, he talks, he walks on his two feet, he has his own life with a house and all that.
So he thinks and gets treated like a rational being.
Now look at Pluto, my all time favorite Disney character!
Like Goofy, he’s a dog.
But unlike Goofy, he doesn’t wear clothes, except his collar. He doesn’t talk, he barks. He walks on his four feet, like a normal dog, and he’s Mickey’s pet.
So, he gets treated like a pet, not like a rational being.
But he’s a dog too. Why the different treatment? Why does Goofy get to be rational, and Pluto gets to be nothing more then a pet? They are the same race, shouldn’t they be treated equally?
Gets you thinking about the message Mr. Disney put out doesn’t it?
